Nairobi (Kenya), 6 Oct. (LaPresse/AP) – Kenya has today confirmed its first case of Ebola imported from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Kenya’s Health Minister, Aden Duale, stated that a Kenyan national, who arrived in the country on Saturday from the Democratic Republic of the Congo via Uganda, had been isolated and was receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital. The patient tested positive for the Ebola virus after displaying symptoms associated with haemorrhagic fever. The patient died late on Monday evening whilst receiving treatment. Health authorities have placed the county on high alert and are monitoring the situation to identify any further cases.
