(LaPresse) – US President Donald Trump has stated that he plans to speak on the phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss the suspected case of pneumonic plague linked to a research institute in Siberia. Speaking to journalists at the White House, Trump said he would discuss the case with Putin “very soon”. Health authorities are investigating following the death of an employee at an institute specialising in the fight against the plague, a death which the authorities have attributed to pneumonia of unknown cause. When asked what the US intelligence community thought about the case, Trump replied that the United States is conducting “very in-depth discussions” on the matter.
