Rome, 7 Oct. (LaPresse) – Milan, 7 Oct. (LaPresse) – The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, has signed – in accordance with the provisions of Article 87(11) of the Constitution – three decrees of pardon, in respect of which the Minister of Justice, upon completion of the required preliminary investigation, issued a favourable recommendation. This was announced by the Quirinale. The first decree of individual clemency was granted to A. A., born in 1972, who had been sentenced to a total of seven years’ imprisonment for drug-related offences and other crimes. The other two pardons concerned: Guido Gianni, born in 1960, sentenced to twelve years and four months’ imprisonment for the offences of double murder and attempted murder, committed in 2008 during an attempted robbery of which he was the victim inside his own jewellery shop. The Head of State granted a partial pardon, remitting three years and two months of his prison sentence, taking into account the favourable opinion issued by the supervisory judge and in view of the period of the sentence already served (five years and three months). G. B., born in 1981, was sentenced to ten years’ imprisonment for drug-related offences committed between 2002 and 2009.
