Rome, 7 Oct. (LaPresse) – Blessed Rosario Angelo Livatino has been declared Patron Saint of Italian Magistrates by a decree issued by the Dicastery for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments. This was announced by the CEI, the Italian Episcopal Conference. The decree is dated 7 October. “At every stage of the process of discernment,” reads a statement, “and approval, the Italian bishops supported the request from the organising committee, recognising Judge Livatino as a role model and a special intercessor for all those who administer justice on a daily basis.” In the past, Pope Leo XIV recalled that Livatino was the “first magistrate in history to be recognised as a martyr”.
