Milan, 8 Oct. (LaPresse) – Intesa Sanpaolo, through its Banca dei Territori division, is launching a 20 billion euro plan dedicated to small and micro-enterprises in the retail, craft and tourism sectors to promote economic benefits and employment stability across different regions of the country. An initiative – Intesa Sp emphasises – “ in line with the mission of Italy’s leading banking group and with what CEO Carlo Messina has stated on several occasions: a close connection with and focus on local communities, support for the local economy and working families, measures to safeguard employment, and collaboration with the associative and business sectors towards a common strategy that addresses the growth needs and concerns about the future of the countless businesses that characterise entrepreneurial activity, from large cities to small towns. Intesa Sanpaolo is making €20 billion available for new loans for innovation, digitalisation and regeneration, as well as offering concessions on digital payment systems by waiving fees for transactions of up to €20 made via physical POS terminals”. Through these measures, the Bank aims to “respond to the real needs of the business community, offering concrete support to entrepreneurs who, over time, have redefined their priorities and requirements, transforming their cultural approach to ‘doing business’”. The measures, outlined today in Milan, “stem from dialogue and ongoing collaboration with the main trade associations in the retail, craft and tourism sectors: agreements with Confcommercio, Federalberghi and Confartigianato have been renewed here, and a new sector-wide pact has been consolidated to strengthen competitiveness and tackle some of the current challenges, ranging from energy costs and digital tools to specialised training and the protection of jobs”. The new measures are aimed at small and micro-enterprises that drive the local economy through shops, services, accommodation providers and workshops.
