Frankfurt (Germany), 9 Oct. (LaPresse) – Israeli forces have carried out further raids in various locations across the West Bank, whilst yesterday eight Palestinians were killed in the Gaza Strip. This was reported by the Palestinian news agency Wafa, which stated that this morning Israeli soldiers raided the town of Salfit, in the central West Bank, searching several homes and deploying troops on the streets. In the same area, Israeli settlers are reported to have set fire to several olive trees in the Wadi al-Sha’ir area, between Salfit and the town of eastern al-Luban. In Beita, south of Nablus, Israeli forces also arrested two former Palestinian prisoners after raiding their homes at dawn. According to Wafa, Israeli operations and attacks by settlers yesterday resulted in eight deaths in Gaza, whilst at least 45 Palestinians were arrested in the West Bank and a further 26 were injured in attacks attributed to settlers.
