Milan, 9 Oct. (LaPresse) – “I’m definitely feeling better; every day I’m taking a few more small steps forward. There might be days when I take a few steps back, but the trend is definitely positive.” Sofia Goggia said this on the sidelines of the FISI Media Day in Milan. “I never would have thought I’d catch a viral infection that would stop me in this way. The thing is, it was very unusual because it caused so many neurological symptoms – lots of tremors, difficulty speaking once I’d recovered, I felt very sluggish when walking, as if I were really slow and uncoordinated, even on my skis over the last two days, and then there were these indescribable joint pains that gripped me even at night,” added the champion from Bergamo, who, when asked how this setback would affect the season, explained: “I have to stake everything on my training in America, which I hope to be able to do; we’re due to leave in exactly one month’s time, just like two years ago.”
