Rome, 9 Oct. (LaPresse) – “Two or three billion from banks and insurance companies for the budget? We could be more ambitious and expect 5 billion in voluntary and willing contributions from those making large profits – not windfall profits.” This was stated by the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini, at a press conference on housing and rent subsidies for separated parents, in response to a question about the forthcoming budget. “I expect we will reach an agreement through positive and constructive dialogue, without imposing a legal requirement. Some say, ‘We’ve already given enough.’ No,” added the Deputy Prime Minister, “for the major banks, it is a reasonable figure. I believe we will reach a consensus” within the majority. In any case, the League leader confirmed, “the issue of the contribution will be included in the Budget Bill”.
