Rome, 10 Oct. (LaPresse) – “After a three-week break, we didn’t know how the lads would perform, but over the past few weeks they’ve worked hard, shown plenty of enthusiasm and a real desire to train a lot. I’m pleased with the energy they showed and the quality they displayed, and with the fact that we adapted straight away to our opponents. I’m pleased to have fielded so many players; we’ve also managed to give a rest to those who’ve given so much for their national teams.” So said Cristian Chivu, Inter’s manager, speaking to DAZN after the victory over Parma at San Siro. “Pio Esposito’s defining trait is that he’s a selfless player; he works for the team. He’s also impressed me with his defensive contributions. He has room for improvement; he’s a lad who works hard and for the team. He’ll be a big help to us,” he added. “Carlos Augusto? He has some key qualities, thanks to his physical strength and the energy he puts into challenges; he has an impressive long-range shot. We’re pleased to have him with us – he understands that these are his strengths,” added Chivu, who also highlighted Dimarco’s qualities: “He’s good at closing down the opposition too, and he understands the importance of pressing the player on the ball.”
