Turin, 13 Oct. (LaPresse) – “Our approach led us to finish third last year and finally win the Champions League; we have certain characteristics that we won’t compromise. We know how good Real Madrid are, but they’re not the first top-class side we’ve faced. There’ll be a bit more attention on the match, but I don’t think Roma should compromise their style.” This was stated by Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini at a press conference on the eve of the Champions League match against Real Madrid. “The welcome Mourinho received at the Olimpico? There was certainly a great deal of affection from the fans; he deserves all the recognition the people will show him – these are things everyone feels and cannot be stopped,” he added. “Then, once the match starts, all those feelings are put aside; the people of Rome will be cheering exclusively for their own team.”
