Rome, 14 October (LaPresse) – “We were the ones who attacked all the victims. We had fun doing it.” This is the confession made by two minors, aged 16 and 17, who were detained in connection with six attacks carried out in Rome’s Monteverde neighbourhood between 4 and 5 October. One of the victims was actor Davide Iacopini. The teenagers reportedly also explained that they had acted to celebrate one of their birthdays. The Carabinieri identified them under the coordination of Deputy Chief Prosecutor Giuseppe Cascini, with crucial testimony provided by a mechanic who had fitted a red light near the number plate of a minicar and added several stickers, including one depicting a snake. These details matched the vehicle investigators were looking for. The car was also recognisable by a red stripe on its bonnet and was considered unmistakable, attracting attention whenever it was driven on the road. Several details that emerged from the victims’ testimonies proved crucial to the investigation. Both teenagers have a previous record for theft committed jointly.
