Milan, 14 Oct. (LaPresse) – “We have given a great deal to Ukraine. The Italians, the French and the Europeans have given a great deal, in the hope that it would all go towards defending the Ukrainian people and not end up in corruption or bribes. We certainly cannot go on sending billions to Ukraine indefinitely – not as loans, but as gifts, because that is what it amounts to. And I expect the war to end well before the time Marine Le Pen is talking about – though she is right, from her point of view, to say what she says. We are in government and we believe that a great deal has been given to Ukraine and that it is time for diplomacy. That is certainly the case.” So said the League’s Deputy Prime Minister, Matteo Salvini, speaking to reporters in Brussels ahead of the Patriots for Europe summit.
