Rome, 15 Oct. (LaPresse) – A focus on families, and in particular on vulnerable households: this is what is set out in the 2026 Budget Policy Document, which forms the backbone of the forthcoming Budget Bill. The Policy Document emphasises that “the public finance budget for the three-year period 2027–2029 is being drawn up against an international backdrop marked by ongoing geopolitical tensions and their repercussions on prices – particularly energy prices – on households’ purchasing power and on the competitiveness of the production system”. In this context, “the Government places the protection of households’ purchasing power at the heart of its budgetary policy, with particular attention to the most vulnerable households, as well as support for businesses and investment”. With regard to the funding for the forthcoming Budget Law, the Draft Budgetary Plan (DBP) states that “Improvements to expenditure planning capacity will help to ensure a more effective use of available resources and support the achievement of the Budget Law’s objectives. Furthermore, measures relating to the financial sector and the gambling industry will contribute to the financing of the Budget Law.”
