Workplace accidents, one dead and one injured at the Foster high-speed rail station construction site in Florence

Florence, 15 Oct. (LaPresse) – One worker has died and another has been injured following a workplace accident this afternoon in Florence, at the construction site of the new high-speed rail station, Foster Station, on Via Onofrio Zeffirini. Health authorities and the municipal police are currently at the scene. The alarm was raised by the colleagues of the two workers. The circumstances of the accident are not yet known. Paramedics from the 118 emergency service arrived at the scene. In the case of one of the two workers involved, the doctor could do nothing but confirm his death. According to reports, the two workers were struck by a pillar that had fallen from a crane. The fire brigade are also at the scene.
