Brussels, 16 Oct. (LaPresse) – The Italian Government and the European Commission have reached a joint agreement on the measures set out in the ‘Dl Bollette’ (Decree-Law 21/2026), in full compliance with the Middle East State Aid Framework (Metsaf) and sector-specific legislation. This follows intensive and constructive discussions between the Commission’s services and the Italian authorities, with the shared aim of mitigating the impact of energy costs and limiting the effect of rising gas prices on electricity prices for households and businesses, whilst preserving a level playing field in the internal market and minimising distortions. On this basis, Italy will notify the temporary measures to the Commission in accordance with EU state aid rules, and the Commission will assess them as a matter of priority.
