Rome, 17 Oct. (LaPresse) – According to Saudi and Yemeni intelligence sources, Iran has helped the Houthis launch the most powerful and sophisticated attacks to date against Saudi Arabia and its Yemeni allies, providing support for targeting drone and missile strikes, as well as training, intelligence and tactical guidance. This is according to the Wall Street Journal, referring to the Houthis’ new offensive, which has led to rapid territorial gains in Yemen. The militants now control the coastline of the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, a strategic chokepoint for Saudi oil exports, and have launched attacks on Saudi oil tankers, energy facilities and airports, including an attack that left at least 13 people dead last weekend in Riyadh.
