Milan, Oct. 17 (LaPresse) – So-called ‘No Kings’ demonstrations are taking place in dozens of cities across the United States to protest against Donald Trump and encourage citizens to vote in the November midterm elections. In Washington, at the Lincoln Memorial, several hundred people wearing caps and coats took part in the demonstration, holding signs reading ‘Vote early’ and ‘Hands off my vote’. During a rally in Atlanta, city council member Michael Julian Bond urged the crowd to encourage others to vote before Election Day on November 3. The hundreds of events planned have been presented as non-partisan, although they aim to build on nearly two years of marches and demonstrations organized by the ‘No Kings’ network, made up of people dissatisfied with Trump’s presidency. Trump has long been suspicious of mail-in voting and has claimed, without evidence, that electoral fraud cost him the 2020 presidential election.
