Milan, 20 Oct. (LaPresse) – “I was in Milan all day yesterday; I went to meet the local police commander to thank him, and I met some of the workers who have been cleaning up the city, as well as the police. Today, in a decree we are currently drafting with all the majority parties, there will be immediate responses, though not specifically regarding the events of Saturday and Sunday: there are measures, for example, that we have been working on for some time. Increasing the number of military personnel in the ‘Safe Streets’ programme is a proposal the League has been putting forward for months, and we must also take swift action regarding minors. We are talking about extending preventive detention to under-18s: for example, there are these ‘geniuses’ who are now announcing on TikTok that they will raid Foot Locker in Como on Saturday, and since we have their first name, surname and address – and since it is Tuesday – a responsible state will not allow them to reach Como on Saturday afternoon.” This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini, on RTL 102.5.
