Milan, 21 Oct. (LaPresse) – Injuries to star players Ousmane Dembélé and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia have somewhat overshadowed PSG’s convincing 4–2 victory over Barcelona in the Champions League. Luis Enrique’s side may now find themselves without two of their most influential attacking players for some time. The most serious injury appears to be that of the former Napoli forward, who, following a violent collision with Xavi Espar, immediately doubled over in pain, clutching his knee. The Parisian club’s management has preferred to await the results of the MRI scan scheduled for Wednesday, limiting itself to stating that “it is difficult to make a prognosis”. However, according to *L’Equipe*, there is deep concern within the player’s entourage, fuelled by initial, rather worrying findings. Many of those close to him feared – during the night between Tuesday and Wednesday – that he had torn the cruciate ligament in his knee. The tests he is due to undergo today, Wednesday, will either confirm or rule out this possibility; but overnight, the atmosphere surrounding the Georgian footballer was extremely tense. As for Dembelé, meanwhile, he is reported to have sustained an injury to the hamstring muscles in his left thigh. On Wednesday, he will undergo further tests to determine the extent of the injury.
