Rome, 24 Oct. (LaPresse) – “A 30-year-old man, believed to be the alleged ‘mastermind’ behind the ‘17 October movement’ and the Instagram account used to organise violent actions in major Italian cities, has been arrested by the police in Milan. He is a 30-year-old with links to the pro-Pal network, who boasts connections with radical circles; a freelance journalist who has worked with a well-known national newspaper and a major research institute.” Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi wrote this on social media after Youssef Siher was taken to the police station. “His identification by the police demonstrates the great skills of our investigators and reaffirms a clear and unequivocal message: there will be no safe havens, and the State’s response will be immediate against anyone who thinks they can organise attacks and riots whilst believing they can hide behind a balaclava or the anonymity of social media,” the minister concluded.
