Rome, 25 Oct. (LaPresse) – “We went behind to a 30-metre shot, but there’s nothing to criticise in terms of our quality or determination; in the end, we were rewarded because, despite going behind, we kept our cool and our composure. I’d like to congratulate my lads; they created chances and tried to secure the win. These are matches that aren’t easy for me or for them. The penalty? I thought: ‘I hope he takes it’. We deserved it today; I’d have said that even if we’d lost.” So said Cristian Chivu, Inter’s manager, speaking to DAZN after the 2–1 comeback victory over Fiorentina. “I want to see players who believe in themselves right to the end and fight back. Obviously, I’d prefer not to concede either, but that’s the nature of the game. There’ll be matches where we concede and fail to secure the win, or matches where we take the lead only to be pegged back by the opposition – that’s football,” added the Romanian manager.
