Milan, 26 Oct. (LaPresse) – The two-match ban imposed on Napoli manager Massimiliano Allegri, who was sent off in the closing stages of the match against Roma, “is too harsh given what happened”. This is the view of Napoli’s lawyer, Mattia Grassani, who explained that “once the decision had been read, an urgent appeal was immediately lodged against the suspension, given the first team’s two midweek fixtures and next weekend’s fixtures”. “We are awaiting copies of the referee’s report, the fourth official’s report and the Federal Prosecutor’s report – these are the three sources of evidence on which the sanction imposed by the first-instance judge is based,” added Mr Grassani in a statement. “The appeal is likely to be heard between Thursday and Friday. This means that, should the ban be reduced, manager Allegri could take to the pitch for the match against Juventus,” he added. “This is the current status of the proceedings, whilst we await access to the official match documents,” concluded the Azzurri club’s lawyer.
