Florence, Oct. 27 (LaPresse) – Extending the fuel price cap until the end of the year “is obviously not enough”; “structural reforms must also be implemented”. Adolfo Urso, Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, said this on the sidelines of the Festival of Regions in Florence. Urso explained that “the comprehensive reform of the fuel distribution network is finally before Parliament, so that it can become more rational and efficient”, and expressed his hope “that work will soon begin on the new biorefinery to be built in Sicily”. “We are net exporters of both diesel and petrol, while we need to address a deficit in jet fuel production”, the minister stressed, adding, however, that following the meeting with Minister Pichetto Fratin and the roundtable with refineries, “jet fuel production has increased” and “this also helps meet any needs that may arise in the coming weeks”. “Together with the entire government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, we are working to address emergencies as they arise”, he concluded.
