Rome, 28 Oct. (LaPresse) – The Boston Celtics and New York Knicks were the stars of the NBA night: the Celtics only managed to beat Brooklyn in overtime, with Jayson Tatum proving decisive at the final buzzer and scoring 40 points, whilst the reigning champions from New York finally secured their first win of the season by beating Detroit thanks to a dominant third quarter. It was also a convincing win for the San Antonio Spurs, who swept aside Sacramento with 29 points from Victor Wembanyama and 26 from Julian Champagnie. The surprise, however, came from Los Angeles, where the Portland Trail Blazers secured their third consecutive victory and handed the Lakers their first defeat of the season: Luka Doncic’s 41 points were not enough for the purple and gold. Below are all the results from last night’s NBA fixtures: Boston Celtics v Brooklyn Nets 125–124 (OT); New York Knicks v Detroit Pistons 111–97; San Antonio Spurs v Sacramento Kings 130–103; Los Angeles Lakers v Portland Trail Blazers 129–135.
