Milan, Oct. 29 (LaPresse) – Israeli police have rejected allegations made by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party that the elections were “stolen” by Arab parties. “Election day saw very few irregularities that compromised the integrity of the elections, including in comparison with previous elections,” a police source told several Israeli media outlets, as cited by The Times of Israel. “It should be emphasized that there is no evidence to support these claims, either from investigations or intelligence,” the source added. The Times of Israel also reports that allegations of fraud have been rejected by an official from the Central Elections Committee. With the vote count still underway, Arab parties have secured 19 seats in Tuesday’s elections, amid unprecedented turnout among the Palestinian Israeli community.
