Rome, 30 Oct. (LaPresse) – Pope Leo XIV, who was born in Chicago, is still registered to vote in Illinois and has requested a postal ballot for the US mid-term elections. This was reported by the Chicago Sun, which explained that the information came from the Will County Clerk’s Office. “Robert Francis Prevost appears on the list of people who have requested a postal ballot for the upcoming elections,” Kim Fladhammer, chief of staff at the Will County Clerk’s Office, told the newspaper. The Pope, who is registered at an address in New Lenox, submitted his request on 3 October. Records show that Prevost voted in the Republican primaries in 2012, 2014 and 2016, as well as in the general elections of 2012, 2014, 2018 and 2024. He also voted in the Democratic primaries in 2008 and 2010. He did not take part in the primaries held in Illinois in March.
