Milan, October 30 (LaPresse) – After being occupied for around two and a half hours, Milan’s Eastern Ring Road has been reopened. The last remaining protesters were escorted off the carriageway by riot police, with no incidents reported. Several hundred people had remained on the road near the Lambrate exit, after most of the march organised as part of the general strike had already left. The protesters had entered the ring road at around 1 p.m. via the ramps at the end of Via Palmanova. Graffiti targeting Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini appeared along the Eastern Ring Road. The phrases “Salvini hanged” and “Meloni hanged” were spray-painted on the sides of the carriageway.
