Washington (USA), May 5 (LaPresse) – “We will give them food” and “help the people of Gaza,” said Donald Trump, blaming Hamas for the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the Strip. The United States needs “law and order,” he added, stating that “Alcatraz is the strongest symbol of law and order, along with Sing Sing,” referring to his project to reopen the maximum-security prison, “from which no one has ever escaped.” Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a phone conversation with US President Donald Trump, according to Anadolu Agency. During the call, “bilateral relations between Turkey and the US as well as regional and global issues” were discussed. Erdogan invited Trump to Ankara and expressed support for Trump’s approach to ending wars, praising the negotiation process with Iran and efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine war. Regarding the Middle East, Erdogan said the humanitarian crisis in Gaza “has reached a severe level,” and that humanitarian aid “must be delivered without interruption.” He added that “this tragic humanitarian disaster must end.” Turkey, he concluded, “is ready to cooperate and provide every kind of support to establish a ceasefire and ensure lasting peace.”
