Rome, 2 Nov. (LaPresse) – “Kimi, what have you achieved? Congratulations on your first world title.” This is how Jannik Sinner, in a short video posted on social media, paid tribute to the triumph of Kimi Antonelli, the Formula 1 world champion. “He’ll become Italy’s hero; it’s a historic moment. I’m a motorsport enthusiast; I’ve always been frustrated that we didn’t have any Italian drivers capable of winning in F1, and I used to wonder why. After 73 years, having an Italian world champion is fantastic. It’ll be tough now because he’ll become a global superstar – we’ll have to manage that aspect – but if he stays as he is, it won’t be a major problem,” commented Valentino Rossi, speaking to Sky Sport. “He could become one of the greatest drivers in history; he’s a driver who can win five or six world titles,” added the former champion from Tavullia. “I like to draw a parallel with myself – he reminds me of myself when I was 20 or 21. I really love watching him and cheering him on.”
