Rome, 2 Nov. (LaPresse) – There have been minimal changes for Italian players in the women’s world rankings published this morning by the WTA following the conclusion of the WTA 500 in Tokyo and the WTA 250 in Guangzhou. Once again this week, there are two Italian players in the top 100. The top Italian player remains Jasmine Paolini: the 30-year-old from Bagni di Lucca, who dropped out of the top ten at the end of May (where she had remained continuously since 7 June 2024, following her run to the final at Roland Garros), remains steady at number 35. Elisabetta Cocciaretto, meanwhile, has dropped three places to number 72; she has undergone further surgery on her left knee and is set to return in 2027. Lisa Pigato has also dropped six places and is now ranked 108th. Lucrezia Stefanini, on the other hand, has climbed one place to number 117. Behind her, Lucia Bronzetti has dropped two places; she fell out of the top 100 exactly a year ago and is now ranked 134th. Meanwhile, both Tyra Caterina Grant, ranked 154th, and Samira De Stefano, ranked 186th, remain unchanged, just one step away from their ‘best ranking’.
