Rome, 2 Nov. (LaPresse) – Longer check-in times for passengers checking in hold luggage with Ryanair: from 10 November, passengers will need to arrive at least 60 minutes before the scheduled departure time, compared with the current 40 minutes. This change, announced in April, “will allow 20 per cent of Ryanair passengers checking in a bag to have more time to get through the queues at security and passport control and reach their boarding gate before boarding begins, particularly during peak periods. It will also help to reduce the already small number of passengers who miss their flights due to delays at security or passport control,” the airline explains in a statement. The remaining 80 per cent of Ryanair passengers who do not check in any luggage “will not be affected by this minor 20-minute change and will continue to check in online before heading to the airport, then proceed directly through security to their boarding gate”.
