(LaPresse) – A member of the Iranian Parliament’s Security Committee has stated that Tehran will strike any European base used against the Islamic Republic, including those in Italy and Germany. Iranian state media have claimed that any new confrontation could reach “the heart of Europe”. “If the United States uses its bases in Europe, including those in Italy and Germany, Iranian missiles will be launched towards Europe,” MP Ahmad Bakhshayesh Ardestani told Euronews. “We did not do so in the two previous wars, but this time we will not allow Europe’s assistance to the US in an attack on Iran to go unpunished,” he added. When asked whether Europe was entering a new phase of war with Tehran, Ardestani replied that European countries had already been at war during the previous phase, having allowed their military bases to be used. Iran, he said, would strike any base used against it and would also target “the material and immaterial resources of the countries assisting the US”.
