Rome, 5 Nov. (LaPresse) – Italy is preparing to continue its military support for Ukraine. Defence Minister Guido Crosetto announced to the Senate his intention to propose an extension of the decree authorising the dispatch of military aid to Kyiv, which is due to expire on 31 December 2026. Crosetto assured that the Government would maintain the approach taken over the last four years, noting that the aid mechanism was introduced by the Draghi Government and supported at the time by almost all political parties. Meanwhile, the thirteenth package of military supplies has already been prepared. The measure could be examined by COPASIR next week. The minister explained that preparation is taking longer, partly due to changes in Ukraine’s military requirements and the difficulty in sourcing the necessary materials. Italy’s commitment to Kyiv and to its European and NATO allies has therefore been confirmed.
