Rome, 6 Nov. (LaPresse) – The CGIL is renewing the appeal issued by the Social Forum on Housing and will take part in the international day of action on 11 November, organised in solidarity with the large-scale demonstrations and general strike for housing in Spain. Rallies, marches and initiatives will be held throughout Italy to demand public policies capable of guaranteeing housing protection and combating growing social exclusion. “The right to decent housing,” says CGIL confederal secretary Stefania Filetti, “is still not a reality for everyone, and housing remains one of the main areas of social inequality in our country too. Faced with an ever-worsening housing crisis, exacerbated by rising rents, property speculation and the high cost of living, we are joining the mobilisation next Wednesday.”
