Rome, Nov. 6 (LaPresse) – “I don’t want to comment on Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from the Portuguese national team. It must be respected, and I respect it. This is not retirement. His career is not over. Anyone who knows him knows that he still has goals to achieve”. Real Madrid coach José Mourinho said this regarding Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from the Portuguese national team. “The only thing I would have wished for is that his retirement as a footballer had taken place on a different day from yesterday”, he added, criticising the way this farewell was handled, given that the Portuguese star appeared in a video reading a letter to the fans instead of taking part in a major public event like the one Leo Messi experienced with Argentina just a few weeks earlier.
