Rome, 7 Nov. (LaPresse) – Lando Norris secured pole position for the Brazilian Grand Prix in heavy rain. At Interlagos, the McLaren driver clocked a time of 1’30″939, finishing ahead of the two Mercedes driven by George Russell and Kimi Antonelli. Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari set the fourth-fastest time. Russell will have to serve a penalty for an engine change and, with a five-place grid penalty, will start sixth, whilst Charles Leclerc, who faces a ten-place grid penalty for an engine change, will start 14th. Consequently, Kimi Antonelli, who finished Q3 with the fourth-fastest time, will start on the front row. Qualifying concluded with over three minutes remaining due to the rain intensifying, preventing the drivers from improving their times.
