Pesaro, May 12 (LaPresse) – With less than 24 hours to go before the registration deadline, more than 50,000 teams have signed up for the fifth edition of FantaEurovision, the fantasy game created by the team behind FantaSanremo, born in the Marche region, and dedicated to the Eurovision Song Contest—the continent’s most anticipated and followed music event, which this year will be held in Switzerland at the St. Jakobshalle in Basel, from tomorrow until May 17. Registration is open until midnight tonight, unless an extended deadline is granted until tomorrow afternoon. To play, users can log in and sign up at fantaeurovision.com, create a team with 7 of the 37 competing artists, line up 5 starters and 2 reserves, and choose one as captain, without exceeding the 100 "Heidi" budget (the fantasy currency used this year). The lineup can be modified by swapping starters and reserves and appointing a new captain among the starters during the Eurovision week: from 8 a.m. Wednesday to 8 p.m. Thursday, and from 8 a.m. Friday to 8 p.m. Saturday. The captain earns double points from bonuses and penalties based on qualification (or lack thereof) in the semifinals and final rankings. Among the top bonuses: fainting (+50 points), an unscheduled stage invasion (+35, or +70 if nudity is involved), 'mic drop' gesture (throwing the mic on the ground), and stage diving (both +30 points), as well as stepping down into the audience (+20).
