United Kingdom: man arrested for climbing Big Ben with Palestinian flag

Milan, 9 Mar. (LaPresse) – The pro-Palestinian protester who climbed barefoot onto Big Ben in London on Saturday morning, remaining for more than 16 hours on the clock tower with a Palestinian flag, has been taken back to the ground by the UK emergency services. The Guardian reported this, specifying that the Westminster police detained the activist. A large crowd gathered in Parliament Square during yesterday afternoon to show their support for the man, the Guardian points out. At around 6pm yesterday the man had written on his social profiles that he was safe, and would come down on his own terms when he was ready.
