Naples, May 26 (LaPresse) – “I think this enthusiasm and passion are something extraordinary, and it's hard to find them everywhere.” So said Antonio Conte, Napoli’s head coach, speaking on board the open-top bus crossing the Neapolitan waterfront to celebrate the club’s fourth Serie A title.
“From that 'amma faticà' (we have to work hard), the slogan I used when I arrived in Naples last June, a year has passed, and we’ve truly worked hard – and we’ve managed to fulfill a dream,” Conte told a Rai journalist. “Seeing all these Napoli fans celebrating in the streets is something extraordinary, and it repays all the sacrifices we’ve made this year.”
“It’s hard not to build a special bond with this city – it’s passionate, full of enthusiasm, it gives everything and expects a lot in return. And I think we gave everything we had. Today, the fans are repaying us with this incredible affection – it’s something you have to experience to understand.”
“It’s always great to win. We work hard to create something beautiful, to give ourselves and the fans these unforgettable days and emotions. I’m really happy – winning a Scudetto in Naples is truly something special.”
“Credit to Inter as well, because we beat a great team that had an amazing season and now has a chance to win the Champions League. That makes our success even more meaningful.”
