Rome, 3 October (LaPresse) – In August 2025, retail sales recorded a decline in both value (-0.1%) and volume (-0.3%) compared to the previous month. The decline affected both food (-0.1% in value and -0.4% in volume) and non-food (-0.1% in value and -0.2% in volume) goods. This was reported by Istat, specifying that, in terms of the trend, in August 2025, retail sales recorded a positive change of 0.5% in value and a decrease of 1.3% in volume. Sales of food products increased in value (+1.6%) and decreased in volume (-2.2%), while sales of non-food products decreased in both value and volume (-0.2% and -0.6% respectively).
