CGIL: Landini, the fight for peace, work and democracy are one and the same

Naples, 6 Oct. (LaPresse) – “After these extraordinary days which brought millions of people to the streets, which saw a new generation of young people speak out, I believe it is absolutely important that this fight, this battle in the name of the Palestinian people but above all in the name of peace, is also connected to the economic and social political choices that must be made in this country”. Thus the CGIL secretary Maurizio Landini, in Naples on the sidelines of the CGIL Campania assembly in view of the demonstration on 25 October. “We are saying no to the policy of rearmament – added Landini – and we are saying that it is necessary to give answers to the problems that people experience, starting from the wage issue, from a real tax reform, from serious investment policies that address the problem of public health, public schools and industrial policy and above all the cancellation of that precariousness and of the entire subcontracting system which are in reality making people poor, which have also increased accidents and deaths at work”. According to Landini “now more than ever, the fight for peace, the fight for work and the fight for democracy are one and the same. October 25th wants to be a date of mobilization that we open and make available to everyone to indicate another economic and social agenda that must be put in place”.
