Poste: 49% of PagoPa acquired, 51% to the State Mint

Rome, 19 December (LaPresse) – Poste Italiane today exercised its option to purchase 49% of the share capital of PagoPa Spa, offered by the Ministry of Economy and Finance. The remaining 51% of PagoPa’s share capital will be acquired by the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato (Italian Mint and Printing Institute). The transaction is subject to approval by the Competition and Market Authority. ‘The transaction,’ reads the Poste Italiane press release, ‘was designed to create value for both Italy and Poste, accelerating the digital transformation process and improving the overall experience of citizens. The goal is to ensure the widespread adoption of digital services and payment solutions, gradually bridging the digital divide.’
