Rome, 20 Dec. (LaPresse) – ‘I think about resigning every morning, it would be the best thing to do. But since this is the 29th budget law I’ve worked on, I know perfectly well how it works, I know these things are natural. There is a Parliament, there are committees, there are government proposals, in the end I’m interested in the final product, not what I present.’ This was the response of Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti, as he left the Senate Budget Committee meeting convened to examine the budget, when asked if he had ever considered resigning. ‘Of course, we believe we have done the right things, we think we are working well in the interests of all Italians, and the results are moving in that direction. But now it’s up to Parliament,’ he added.
