Germany, Berlin: “Deutsche Bank? No comment, but fight against tax crimes is a priority”

Berlin (Germany), Jan. 28 (LaPresse) – The German government declined to comment on the ongoing searches at Deutsche Bank offices in Frankfurt and Berlin for suspected money laundering, while emphasizing the executive’s commitment to fighting tax and financial crimes. “There are ongoing investigations and unfortunately we cannot comment further,” explained a spokesperson for the Ministry of the Interior at a press conference. According to a spokesperson for the Ministry of Finance, “In general, the fight against tax and financial crimes is, of course, a priority for our ministry. We have already initiated several measures during this legislature, and it is quite clear that these are not minor offenses. The ministry is firmly focused on this aspect as a priority, and we will continue to take action.”
