Publishing, Del Vecchio: ‘Gedi? Elkann decides its buyer, it’s a free market’

Milan, 29 Jan. (LaPresse) – ‘I’ve always been told that I rush into things, but before taking another step such as buying a television station, it’s better to wait, given that I haven’t yet formally entered the publishing industry.’ So said LMDV president Leonardo Maria del Vecchio on Otto e mezzo on La7. ‘In a free market, a seller is free to choose their buyer. Elkann has made his decision,’ added the president of LMDV on the failed acquisition of the Gedi group. “I strongly believe in true information. I have noticed that young people get their information and answers from non-authoritative sources, which I consider to be a potential danger for the future. I do this so that my daughter can one day get information from authoritative sources,‘ said LMDV chairman Leonardo Maria del Vecchio on Otto e mezzo on La7. ’I’ve always been told that I rush into things, but before taking another step such as buying a television station, it’s better to wait, given that I haven’t yet formally entered the publishing industry,” concluded Del Vecchio.
