Rome, 3 March (LaPresse) – “The government is assessing the impact that the new conflict spreading from Iran to neighbouring countries may have. Obviously, we are concerned about the consequences this may have on energy costs. Regardless of energy supplies, which I believe are guaranteed thanks to storage facilities and other channels. As far as we are concerned, the problem is the price, and the duration of the conflict will have consequences on the energy and production system.” This was stated by the Minister for Business and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, at a press conference during the third edition of the Italy-France Industrial Cooperation Forum. “I believe that a discussion between the government and the production system will soon be necessary,” Urso stressed, “in order to implement measures that can best support our production system in this difficult phase that has been brought about by this conflict on the doorstep of our Europe”. This, Urso then emphasised, must push us ‘towards autonomy’ at the national level, ‘which is why we have embarked on the path of new-generation nuclear energy.’ ‘Europe,’ Urso added, ‘must understand that it needs to reduce its dependence in the medium to long term.’
