Work, Landini: “Not even this government has reversed the trend of gender discrimination”

Florence, 4 Mar. (LaPresse) – “I believe that gender discrimination exists and continues to persist in workplaces today, and it has not been reversed even by this government. This is not a problem that began with this government, but it is clear that over these years this government has done nothing to substantially reverse this problem and trend, starting with the latest transposition of the European directive on equal treatment, which our contracts, laws, and Constitution already guarantee, but which is instead moving backwards. They have even failed to fully implement that European law, and in fact have promoted a process that worsens the situation in the field.” This is what Maurizio Landini, general secretary of the CGIL, said today in Florence on the sidelines of a conference.
