National Consumers Union: “Self-service gasoline tops €1.8 per liter in Calabria and Bolzano”

Rome, Mar. 6 (LaPresse) – In just two days, from March 4 to March 6, self-service diesel rose by 11.6 cents per liter in Sicily, equal to €5.80 more for a 50-liter tank, while self-service gasoline surpassed the €1.8 threshold in Calabria and Bolzano. This is according to a study by the National Consumers Union based on regional and motorway averages calculated daily by Italy’s Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (Mimit). The ranking of regions that recorded the largest increases in self-service diesel prices over the two days sees Sicily in first place, with a jump of 11.6 cents per liter (+€5.80 per refueling). Silver medal goes to Molise (+10.6 cents, equivalent to €5.30 for a full tank), while Campania takes the third spot on the podium (+10.5 cents, +€5.25 per refueling). The most “virtuous” region is Umbria (+8.6 cents, +€4.30), although the lowest increase was on motorways: +8 cents, +€4 per tank. Motorways show the smallest rise, also because they already have the highest prices in absolute terms (table no. 3): €1.983 per liter. Compared with the rest of the country, Bolzano ranks first with €1.969, followed by Calabria with €1.946, and Trento in third place with €1.943. As for gasoline, based on the price published today (table no. 4), Calabria and Bolzano lead as the first to break the €1.8 threshold (€1.801), second only to the motorway network, which stands at €1.854. Basilicata follows with €1.792. In the ranking of regions with the largest increases in self-service gasoline prices, the gold medal goes to Campania and Molise, which from March 4 to March 6 recorded a rise of 4.4 cents per liter, or €2.20 more for a 50-liter tank.
