Dl Bollette: Lega amendments on fuel, variable excise duty if price exceeds €2

Rome, 10 March (LaPresse) – Apply the provision introduced in 2008 on variable excise duty “in the event of an increase in the price of energy products used as fuel or as heating fuel for civil use equal to or greater than €2.00 per litre for five consecutive days”. This is what is provided for in a series of amendments by the Lega to the Bills Decree, first signed by the chairman of the Chamber of Deputies’ Productive Activities Committee, Alberto Gusmeroli. The Lega proposes to apply the mechanism for the period from 1 April to 30 September or, alternatively, until 30 June 2026. Another amendment provides for a progressive reduction in excise duty as the price of fuel rises, using the additional VAT revenue.
