Milan, 28 May (LaPresse) – The SAE Group announces the completion of the acquisition of the daily newspaper La Stampa and its associated business units. ‘To facilitate this process, the SAE Group has set up a sub-holding company, SAE Piemonte (comprising the SAE Group with a 51 per cent stake and Toto Holding with 49 per cent), aimed at securing a majority stake in La Stampa SAE S.p.A., which will own the newspaper,’ explains a statement. The acquisition “is designed to ensure continuity and industrial stability within an ambitious project founded on editorial independence, reliability, and respect for the newspaper’s identity and its regional, national and international focus. A vision that aims to strengthen the growth prospects, prestige and capacity for innovation that have always characterised the newspaper”. The transaction “forms part of the SAE Group’s industrial growth strategy, geared towards the development of an integrated model capable of combining quality of information, digital innovation, internationalisation and diversification of the offering. With this acquisition, the group will consolidate, by the end of 2026, a total turnover of approximately €250 million, further strengthening its presence in the publishing and digital landscape.” “The acquisition of La Stampa represents a significant step in the growth strategy undertaken by the SAE Group. We believe that the publishing sector can grow through investment in innovative, high-quality assets and integrated communication projects capable of making publishing groups sustainable and truly competitive. This is the path that has enabled us in recent years to build a solid business, with strong margins and growing turnover. A sound business plan, the credibility of which has also been confirmed by a fundraising round that far exceeded expectations. We will bring La Stampa even more to the forefront of the media landscape, innovating and enhancing its talent, its tradition and its identity,” said Alberto Leonardis, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the SAE Group.
